Unusual Ways to Get Fit

If you’re like me, going to the gym is the last thing you want to right after work. You’ve already had a long dull day, so why would you want to extend it for another hour? Running in the same place for forty-five minutes or listening to that annoying guy behind you grunt every time he lifts up dumbbell can really put a damper on the rest of your night. So why not mix it up? It’s entirely possible for you to get in shape and have a great time simultaneously. But if you’re having trouble thinking outside of the fitness box, then I’ve come up with a list of truly unique and sometimes eccentric ways to get fit.

Bikram Yoga. This yoga variety is far more intense than the yoga you’re probably used to. It consists of doing a series of yoga poses in a heated room. The temperature using ranges from 95 to 100 degrees. The session is vigorous and it promotes a whole lot of sweating, which in turn rids your body of toxins and makes your muscles more flexible. Typically the class lasts for about 90 minutes, so you’re sure to get in toned fast. Get an exercise ball chair. This won’t completely transform you body or anything, but it will certainly help to tone your abs and give you better posture. You can easily swap your current office chair with an exercise ball chair and it’ll be a pretty fun conversation piece. Play paint ball. Believe it or not, this can be an incredibly strenuous workout. You can play it indoors or outdoors and it basically involves you running around for at least a half an hour, depending on your skill level. It’s a great cardio workout and it will certainly amp up your adrenaline. Rock climbing. This is a great way to tone your legs and arms. Its can be very challenging so you’ll never get bored. You can also continually adjust the difficulty of your course if you choose to practice indoors. You can also take you workout outdoors on beautiful sunny days.

Staying shape doesn’t have to be incredibly monotonous. Just avoid the gym and pick up a new workout routine. There are endless ways to stay in shape; you just need to be creative. So get out there and start trying something new and you’ll never have to hit the gym again.
