New Year’s Fitness Resolutions That Really Work!

Mike Morrical asked:

As we begin a New Year, most all of us have some things that we would like to improve upon or not repeat this year.  The most popular New Year’s resolutions include achieving a stronger, healthier more youthful body through diet and exercise.

This year do something different as you sit down to write your New Year’s resolutions and goals for 2010…”This year I am going to focus on just one or two goals and make those my New Year’s resolutions.” If you can do that and one of those is to lose weight or tone up your body for a new and healthier you…consider setting up a home gym or adding to your existing home gym using affordable but effective fitness products.   Make sure that the exercise equipment that you use targets the areas of your body that you wish to improve.

Let’s face it…”It’s easier said than done!” But that should not discourage us if we set out a plan to succeed and not a plan to fail.  The basics are to incorporate a proper nutritious diet and exercise plan into your lifestyle!

But sometimes diet and exercise can be routine and boring!  So you may ask yourself: “How do I stick with this New Year’s resolution and make it work?”  First focus on changing your attitude and write down the positives of why you need to include diet and exercise in your life.  Note: These attitude changes should be written out and visual so that you refer to them often.  Such as:  “I am working out to do something good for me!  “Working out is time well spent on improving my overall health!”  “Getting physical, helps me reduce stress and puts my mind at rest”, well you get the idea.  Do your homework to identify a well balanced, work out plan that fits your schedule and write it out so that you follow it each day and check it off when completed or use a fitness diary.  These are available on line or at your local library.

Second, change your routine!  Since we are all creatures of habit, change your lifestyle:  Find something physical that you enjoy doing and switch it up each day so that you get a variety of exercise by combining various fitness products with aerobic exercise.   This may include walking in a mall or along a scenic waterway or through a park if time is available or if the weather is poor for walking that day use your home gym aerobic exercise equipment such as an elliptical machine or a treadmill.  Include some weight training every other day working out with light weights at first and working different muscle groups to achieve optimum fitness.  (Remember building muscles will burn fat and calories.)

Next follow a healthy eating plan, not a diet but a healthier fueling of your body and concentrate on portion control by using the suggested serving sizes.  Search out books on food and nutrition as there is a science to combining foods that will burn more efficiently in your body.  There are many of these plans on line for free or at your local library.  In your diet plan, include recipes, some energy foods and various filler foods that are not fattening like vegetables and some low fat proteins.

In summary in order to achieve your New Year’s resolutions for a healthier you, make it fun and part of a lifestyle that works for you by changing your attitudes about healthy eating and exercise.  If you can accomplish this by the time you sit down to write out your New Year’s resolutions for 2011…Look in a mirror and say I did it!  A balanced diet and exercise program is now part of your new healthy lifestyle!  Congratulations!

Health and Fitness Lies Part 1

Craig Pepin Donat asked:

y has taught us anything, it is that when an industry exhibits the potential for growth, people and companies exploit the opportunity. The fitness industry has transformed into a multi-billion dollar juggernaut with highly trained sales and marketing snipers who have their cross hairs on your cash.

Although the expansions of this industry and advances in modern technology have helped usher in a new era of quality health and fitness products, they have also opened the door for liars and con artists who could care less about your health. The trick is to understand how to maneuver through the marketing madness to find the truth.

Sadly, the number of people who fall victim to unrealistic quick-fix solutions is in the tens of millions. All the while, companies that sell ineffective products that will never help you acheive your goals, get rich at your expense. Beyond the scams and rip-offs designed to separate you from your hard-earned cash, there are people, companies, industries and even government agencies with hidden agendas designed to sabotage your attempts to improve your health. It’s not a conspiracy theory; it is simply the undeniable truth that you will see once the facts are known.

There is no shortage of people who stand to profit from those who do not know the truth, and they will do everything possible to refute the facts. Remember, when it comes to big industry and their profits, the fix is in: billions are spent to keep consumers in the dark. You will need to rely on the one thing that marketing cannot spin your common sense.

Let’s start with a simple truth that helps feed the big, fat health and fitness lie. That truth is that the average person would much prefer to go on a diet or take a pill rather than exercise. This is why the fitness industry at $19 billion in annual revenue pales in comparison with the diet and weight loss industry, which exceeds $40 billion. Even the supplement industry, with more than $20 billion in annual revenue, outperforms the fitness industry.

Yet with a success rate of sustained weight loss as low as 5 percent, more than 50 million Americans line up each year to go on a diet. Why? The answer was simple. When people think about exercise, they relate it to work. Even the phrase we use to describe exercise is to “work out.” The truth is that the average American spends the majority of waking life working. Who wants more work? We want to play. We want to relax. We want to escape from the reality of work, Exercise is the last thing we want to do. Instead, we want a quick fix solution, and the desire for fast results is an open invitation for health and fitness parasites. But this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The smoking gun that reveals the real truth about the state of health in the U.S. is the sky rocketing revenue within the pharmaceutical industry. Between 1995 and 2005, prescription drug sales increased by 249 percent to a staggering $251 billion on more than 3.6 billion prescriptions that are written annually. This doesn’t include the $17 billion we spent on over 100,000 over-the-counter drugs that have in excess of 1,000 synthetic chemical compounds.

As you peel back the layers of the lie, you quickly realize that these record-breaking numbers were made possible by drugs that treat conditions and diseases, which are largely self-inflicted or forced upon us by accomplices that stand to profit from our ill health.

How to Create a Fitness Info Product in 30 Days or Less

Bedros Keuilian asked:

If you really want to get a message across about your fitness business, you need to create a fitness info product. This can be an audio program or a video of some sort. You may even find that creating something such as an eBook could make a great instructional tool for those wishing to become more physically fit.

However, you have to make sure you create it quick. Actually 30 days or less is the ideal period of time in which you should create your fitness info product.

The elements of a fitness info product

Your fitness info product is informational. It has information in it that your customers need, but you can’t give away the prize. You have to make them want more when they get to the end so that they will buy any other fitness info products that you have, and ultimately get into your personal training program.

So here are the things that your fitness info product needs to have:

• An introduction that tells the customer what is in it for them. You have to identify their pain by telling them what the problem is they are trying to solve. You then have to tell them that you have the solution.

• You then have to tell your customer throughout your fitness info product what it is they need to do to have a better life. You can present them with tips and even instruct them in some of the things that they need to do.

• Make sure you don’t give away the ultimate prize in the end. Let them know that there is more to having the ultimate lifestyle. If they like what they have received so far, they will look to you for even more answers regarding how to improve their lifestyle.

• In the end, you provide them with the option to acquire more fitness info products. Each product can touch on a different area. That is a great way to make them want more.

Types of fitness info products

So if you want to create your fitness info product in 30 days or less, it is important for you to think about what sort of product you are making. Here are three of the most common fitness info products you may make:

• An eBook – An eBook is a great way to instruct people on how to improve their lifestyle. Some individuals prefer an eBook over an audio recording or a video. They would rather read at their own pace and follow the tips in the book as they go.

• The audio product – An audio product is something that can be created in a day and processed in less than a week. As a matter of fact, this makes a great fitness info product for the fact that you can create a series within 30 days. Individuals will download these and play them on their iPods, play them in their cars, and so much more.

• The video product – A video product is also a fitness info product that can be created in a short period of time. You can actually create a short video series within your 30 days. At the end of each one, make the customer want more so that they will purchase the next video. You can show various demonstrations in your videos and can cover a wide range of topics. Just make sure you are not too revealing.

Use one or all of these to help you create a great fitness info product in 30 days or less. You could have yourself an empire that supplements your income before you know it.
