What Should Be Included In Fitness Activities?

The medical studies show that physical shape of kids is in worst condition than it was 20 years ago. It is appalling for all the parents since an overweight teenager grow into an overweight adult, thus, more prone to different diseases. The most common diseases an overweight person can encounter are heart diseases, diabetes, gout, and arthritis. The studies show that death rate of obese teenagers in the late 70s is higher than those who were fit and smart in their teens.

Researchers at Memphis State University and the University of Tennessee surveyed that a teenager metabolism slows down when he/she watches TV. It is altogether different when they are actually resting or doing nothing at all. The typical teenager approximately spends 30 hours a week in front of the TV and eating food rich in fats.

People who like to be healthy and smart need regular physical activity. It is not easy these days because of so many other fun activities around. Most of us are not able to spare time from our daily routine for fitness activities.

The key is to find out an activity, which you like the most and that would make you active. It is not advisable to choose a particular activity just because other people are doing it. The activity, which doesn’t suit you, will not do any good to your health and fitness. The activity, which you like, can become your habit and you can enjoy doing it on daily basis. Two and half-hour of moderate activity in a week is recommended by most health practitioners to make you feel at your best for example brisk walking. However, any activity of daily chores, which could raise your heart rate, can be included in your daily fitness class.

To know “what is the best activity for you which you would enjoy and that fit your lifestyle?” you should have to answer some of the questions.

The first question is that “do you prefer an activity all alone or with others?” For some people joining a group or class is a real motivation and for some they like to do it alone because they find it more convenient. Choose the style which best suits you.

The second question is that “do you like and enjoy an outdoor activity or you feel safe and confident doing it in an indoor setting?” Most people like to go outside to perform an activity. It gives them chance to interact with other people and increase their social contacts. Some people like quietness and comfort to perform the exercises at home so choose the option according to your liking and mindset.

There are so many things, which you have to consider before starting any activity. Some prefer activities that involve some social contact (like football, hockey) and other like playing isolated game. Some people like to compete with others and some like mental challenge activities that make them feel more comfortable concentrating and thinking. Some people feel more comfortable exercising in the daytime while others likes evening time.

There are so many factors, which one should keep in mind before starting and including any fitness activity in the fitness program. One should adopt an activity in accordance to the goals he would like to achieve, and this is the key to success, joy, and happiness.
